Intelligent Use of Gravity for Physiological CSF-Drainage
The paediGAV® is a valve which was specifically developed for the treatment of pediatric hydrocephalus working dependent on the body position of the child. Titanium technology ensures a maximum of precision and functional safety.

A ball-in-cone-valve is integrated in the inlet of the device. As long as the child is lying the IVP is reliable controlled by the ball-in-cone unit of the paediGAV®.

In the upright position the weight of the tantalum ball creates an additional gravitational valve. Therefore the opening pressure of the paediGAV® in the vertical body position is defined by the sum of both mechanisms, the ball-in-cone unit and the gravitional unit. The danger of overdrainage is significantly reduced.  
  
The paediGAV® is available in six pressure ranges. It is possible to determine the pressure stage of the implanted valve by x-ray.

The paediGAV® ist available as a single product or as a shunt system with different components.
