On May 20th, massive earthquake of 6.0 magnitude hit the Emilia Romagna region of northern Italy. Our B. Braun location in Mirandola was also affected.
On Tuesday, about one week after that earthquake, the north of the country was again struck by violent tremors. Once again, the epicenter was very close to our Mirandola location.
The news that none of the 200 staff working at our location in Mirandola was hurt has come as a great relief to us. Currently we are analyzing the situation and possible effects on our production facility.
In Mirandola B. Braun manufactures bloodlines systems for dialysis, dialysis kits, dialysis concentrates, empty bags for enteral and parenteral feeding as well as application systems for enteral nutrition.
We do not expect longtime delivery problems with our products, except the concentrates in bags. As an alternative, concentrate in canisters can be delivered from our production site Glandorf in Germany.
For further information please contact your sales representative or our customer service in your country organization. We apologize for any inconvenience.
We would like to wish our Italian colleagues all the very best for this difficult time.
