Frequently Asked Questions

1. Before using the device
  • Wash your hands thoroughly.
  • Get into a comfortable position: either standing with legs slightly bent or sitting or lying down.
2. Device application

The device can be inserted like a tampon.

Use of the device with applicator

For your convenience you can use the applicator in the box to insert the device.

 

Preparation of the device:

  • Remove the inner push rod from the applicator tube.(1)
  • Gently pinch the ring of the device in order to bring its halves together,(2) insert it into the applicator tube and push it with your index finger until it reaches the tip of the ring just beneath the rounded tip of the applicator tube.(3)
  • Place the push rod again into the applicator tube to get the device ready for insertion.(4)

 

3. Insertion of the device:

  • Insert the tip of the applicator tube approx. 2 cm into the vagina(5) and then push the device itself with the applicator into the vagina (same method as a tampon applicator).(6)
  • Once inserted the device spontaneously takes the right position.(7)
  • Make sure that the proximal end of the removal cord remains outside.
  • Remove and wash (with water / soap) and dry the applicator tube and push rod; store it in a clean and dry place for the next use.

 

Use of the device without applicator
  • Gently pinch the ring of the device in order to bring its halves together and gently insert it into the vagina until it spontaneously takes the right position.
  • Make sure that the proximal end of the removal cord remains outside.

 

4. Removal of the device:
  • To remove the device from the vagina, gently pull on the removal cord.
  • Wash (water / soap), dry and keep the device in a clean and dry place for the next use.

 

  • The device can be re-used once.
  • After removal wash (with water / soap), dry Diveen® and its applicator and perform the same procedure a second time before any re-use
  • Do not force if the cord gets stuck in the applicator, repeat the procedure by correctly repositioning the cord in the applicator.

 

Diveen® must not be used:

  • during pregnancy,
  • after childbirth (healing process must have been completed, stop of bleeding reached before use),
  • after miscarriage, perineal, vaginal, or uterine surgery, intrauterine device (IUD) placement (healing process must have been completed before use),
  • during the period,
  • during sexual intercourse,
  • together with another intravaginal device (e.g. tampon, menstrual cup).

 

Diveen® must not be used in case of:

  • pain or burning sensation during bladder emptying,
  • urinary tract infection,
  • vaginal soreness or itching,
  • abnormal vaginal bleeding,
  • excessive vaginal discharge and/or bad odour,
  • vaginal infection,
  • prolapse,
  • known hypersensitivity.

Once the device is in place, if the removal string is not protruding from the vagina, try to withdraw the device by yourself or, if in doubt, talk to your doctor.

There is no contraindication against reusing the provided applicator. Before the insertion, read carefully the instructions for use. Diveen® Applicator can be re-used up to 29 times.

Diveen® is available in two sizes: Small and Medium; ensure that you have selected the appropriate size according to your body shape.

This is a non-sterile device and therefore it does not require sterilization. In order to keep the product intact, clean it with neutral pH soap and water and ensure that your hands are clean before using the product. For more information read carefully the instructions for use.

For an optimal use, we advise you to speak to a doctor before use. 

The device is flexible and well tolerated and can therefore be forgotten. However, it is important to know for how long it has been in place. The device should be removed at night after 12 hours of use. Diveen® must not be worn for longer than 12 hours.
