B. Braun has decided to sell its provider and hospital services business in Colombia. Effective March 16, the local company Grupo Uros will take over all dialysis centers including their approx. 230 clinical employees. B. Braun has provided high-quality dialysis care to up to 2,000 patients over the last eight years.
“With Grupo Uros, we have found a suitable new operator for our dialysis centers in Colombia that will ensure continuity in the care of our patients,” says Christopher Boeffel, Vice President Patient Care / Patient Services & Ambulatoy Channel at B. Braun Avitum AG. Grupo Uros will then have a much broader footprint with 25 clinics nationwide. “Our employees will also benefit from the new employer's local market knowledge. We would like to express our sincere thanks for their hard work and loyalty and wish them all the best,” said Dr. Holger Seeberg SVP Global Marketing & Sales Avitum and Member of the Management Board of B. Braun Avitum AG.
B. Braun has faced an increasingly difficult business environment in Colombia. Declining treatment figures as a result of the Corona pandemic have also weighed heavily on business recently, leading B. Braun to decide to withdraw from the provider business in Colombia.
