Changes in the B. Braun SE Executive Board: Dr. Meinrad Lugan moves to the Executive Board of the family holding company

In his new role, Dr. Lugan will be responsible primarily for the evaluation and development of new technologies and strategic partnerships for the B. Braun Group. Responsibility for the Hospital Care division on the B. Braun SE Executive Board and the position of chairman of the Executive Board of B. Braun Melsungen AG will pass to Markus Strotmann, who is currently responsible on the Executive Board of B. Braun SE for the B. Braun Avitum division and is chairman of the Executive Board of B. Braun Avitum AG. Anna Maria Braun, CEO of B. Braun SE will take on Strotmann’s current duties temporarily. 

Dr. Lugan has been on the Executive Board of the B. Braun Group since 2000, where he was initially responsible for the OPM division. Starting in November 2004, he also took on responsibility for the Hospital Care division. From then on, Dr. Lugan led both divisions with great success.

Braun Group's strongest division in terms of sales. With his excellent knowledge of the medical technology field and of international health care markets, Dr. Lugan has been shaping the development of the B. Braun Group for over 20 years. Markus Strotmann joined the B. Braun Group in 2002. Since 2003, he has been responsible for the Hospital Care division’s strategic marketing and, since December 2008, the division’s sales operations. In 2012, Strotmann was appointed to the Executive Board of B. Braun SE to be responsible for the B. Braun Avitum division as well as to the position of chairman of the Executive Board of the B. Braun Avitum division. 

Back in December 2021, the B. Braun Group announced that board member Dr. Joachim Schulz would be retiring and resigning from the B. Braun SE Executive Board. He will be succeeded by Dr. Jens von Lackum on April 1, 2022. For more information, visit:
