Our commitment to

Sustainability in renal care

At B. Braun, we are committed to improving sustainability in kidney care. With over 350 renal care centers worldwide, we understand the environmental footprint of dialysis – and we are taking action to decrease the burden.

Illustrated diagram showing a water and energy reuse concept in dialysis centers. It includes a reverse osmosis system supplying permeate to dialysis machines, while waste water is directed to a tank with a heat exchanger. Waste water is reused for toilet flushing and irrigation, and its cooling effect is used for free cooling of a switchboard. Labels indicate temperatures (8 °C, 10 °C) and processes like “Use of Waste Water” and “Use of Cooling Effect.

“Raising awareness among our staff about the environmental impact of dialysis is essential. To create meaningful change, both awareness and motivation are key. Every employee, regardless of role, can help reduce the environmental footprint of dialysis treatment. Together, we can reduce the impact of our renal care centers and contribute to a healthier future for our patients and our planet.”
