Sol-Cart® B
Sol‑Cart® B
-Use only what you need-
Sol‑Cart B cartridges are designed to support efficient and resource‑conscious dialysis by offering different fill volumes. This allows the fill volume to be matched to individual treatment parameters, helping reduce residual bicarbonate, avoid unnecessary waste, and support cost‑efficient, reliable day‑to‑day dialysis practice.
Many renal care centers use only one single cartridge with one fill volume. As a result, larger amounts of unused bicarbonate often remain in the cartridge after treatment.
Choosing the appropriate fill volume, reduces residuals after treatment, and supports a more conscious use of bicarbonate and cost‑efficient operations. With multiple fill volumes available, Sol‑Cart B serves to individual treatment needs and clinical practices.
Selecting the appropriate bicarbonate volume is essential for efficient and reliable dialysis therapy. Treatment parameters such as dialysate flow rate, treatment duration, directly influence the bicarbonate demand. To support precise planning and help avoid unnecessary waste, the interactive calculator supports you to quickly estimate the appropriate Sol‑Cart B fill volume for your specific treatment setup.
Sol-Cart® B Calculator
Sol-Cart B Fill Volume
Sol‑Cart B is available in three dedicated fill volumes, 550, 650, and 760 g, designed to align with key therapy parameters such as dialysate flow rate and treatment duration.
Established routines are beneficial in dialysis care, providing reliability, safety, and efficiency in daily practice. As therapy parameters and treatment concepts evolve, Sol‑Cart B invites care teams to review established routines and assess their fit with today’s requirements. Re‑evaluating the appropriate cartridge selection helps keep long‑standing processes effective – without compromising safety or workflow stability
Compared to conventional 8.4% liquid bicarbonate canisters, bicarbonate cartridges offer a space‑saving alternative. Sol‑Cart B is designed to allow up to 630 cartridges to be stored on one pallet, making it possible to store up to seven times more dialysis treatments in a given storage area.
To avoid treatment interruptions, the calculator includes a predefined 30 % safety margin on top of the calculated bicarbonate demand. This additional buffer accounts for waiting times or center-specific workflows that can result in increased bicarbonate demand beyond the calculated value.
Yes, indeed. Total bicarbonate consumption can vary depending on the type of dialysis machine and the renal care center’s specific operating procedures. Our recommendations are based on B. Braun hemodialysis machines using standard preparation and treatment modes. Machines without a standby function may consume additional dialysate during waiting times, increasing overall bicarbonate usage.
It will be forwarded to a responsible contact person who will get in touch with you as soon as possible.

The 'standby' function reduces water consumption to zero once preparation is complete, before connecting the patient. If a dialysis machine does not have this feature, additional dialysis fluid will be added to the whole therapy (for example, 18–30 liters extra dialysis fluid with a 60-minute waiting period).
