AESCULAP® offers a comprehensive implant portfolio for the acetabular as well as femoral hip revision treatment. Advanced implant materials, reproducible surgical techniques and a high variety of specific types of components support surgeons and the clinical team to answer challenging revision treatments.
A modern hip revision system needs to offer multiple and reproduceable answers. A high degree of flexibility is demanded to address suitable treatments. Prevision® combines these demands in one platform. A platform of implants for cementless and cemented monobloc stems, followed by corresponding design principles for a modular concept in a straight and curved version.
The Prevision® Modular stem is designed to be a highly customizable stem that can be tailored to the specific needs of each patient. It is composed of multiple modular components, including proximal bodies with a conical and cylindrical shape for different bone morphologies and distal stems, which can be combined in over 1.000 configurations to create a patient-adapted implant.

Patient-specific requirements are addressed in one system and complement each other using the same instruments, inlays, design parameters and surgical procedure.
Acetabular cup system for both, primary treatment and revisions of differently located acetabular defect situations. The hemispherical shape and the laser-sintered titanium structure provide high primary stability. To achieve good stability in larger acetabular defects, the design has a total of five options for anchoring screws.

An additional level for a treatment option for the acetabulum offers the use of modular Plasmafit® Dual Mobility liners. The liners support postoperative joint stability and allow a high range of motion. A ceramic mutilayer coating on the outside of the liner supports corrosion resistance.

AESCULAP® Cemented PE Cups offer high material standards such as highly crosslinked Vitelene® polyethylene with vitamin E to address reduced wear rates and long-term oxidation protection. The cups are categorized into flat profile standard and full profile implants with and without snap-in mechanism.
Learn moreThe Reconstruction Shell is used for severe acetabular revision cases. The anatomical geometry reinforces the bony acetabular bed in the loading area. The appropriate cemented polyethylene cup is fixed in place using bone cement. The fixation screws offer additional stability.
